
Paul Sweetow, LCSW, is a man with two driving passions in life. He is a dedicated psychotherapist with over 24 years experience and a Karate Sensei who has earned a fourth degree black belt in Okinawan Goju-ryu Karate as well as black belts in several other martial arts disciplines. Throughout his career he has followed these two paths.
He received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Champaign and a Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Chicago. He learned Japanese at Middlebury College and traveled to Japan to study Karate for a year with the Okinawan masters.
Paul works with both children and
adults with a wide range of therapy needs. He specializes in teaching
social, emotional and organizational skills in a structured environment
and also emphasizes positive psychology - the study and practice of
happiness. In addition to his private practice, Paul has been a mental
health consultant to North Shore Country Day School in Winnetka, he
teaches karate and is a father.

Individual Psychotherapy for children, teens and adults.
Karate Life Skills which blends karate and psychotherapy emphasizing the Hero's Journey.
Student Life Skills which is a social/emotional group program offered at his office and within school systems.
