Children’s Karate for:

Survivors of Cancer

In current treatment

Have a parent or sibling that is a survivor or in treatment

Karate training strengthens the body and mind.  Children that are fighting, fought, or have family members with cancer are immensely strong and courageous.  Consequently, they take to karate quite naturally.

At Kicking Cancer your child will learn both the physical and philosophical aspects of karate.  All classes emphasize the way of the warrior, Bushido, a life of gentle strength.  We study two life themes: The Classical Hero’s Journey and The Seven Virtues of Bushido.

Benefits of Karate:

Increased physical strength

Enhanced confidence

Better balance and coordination

Camaraderie with other children who have had similar experiences

Instructor with professional expertise working with medical and emotional issues

Every lesson includes an in depth discussion about the life of a warrior and hero.
Your child learns to become the hero of his/her own life.

The Seven Virtues of Bushido:

Integrity

 Respect

  Courage

Honor

       Compassion

     Honesty and Sincerity

      Duty and Loyalty

             The Hero’s Journey:

Call To Adventure (learn to take advantage of opportunities)

Slaying the Dragon (courage is the response to fear)

Transformation (continuation of our growth)

Return (helping others)
